Day 7 Grand Rapids, MN to Duluth, MN to Superior WI to Iron Mountain, MI 330 miles Weather: Perfect mid 70's |
DAY 7
We left Grand Rapids, MN at about 8:00 AM. We rode straight through to Superior, WI and hunted up the house where Barb's mom, Jeanette grew up. We took a number of pictures of the home. I have been told it is a different color than it used to be. (Thank goodness someone painted it since Jeanette lived there!) We ate breakfast in Superior, WI and from there took highway 13 out along the shores of Lake Superior. This side trip took us miles out of our way but we had many wonderful views and ate fresh cod for lunch. We finally arrived at our destination, Iron Mountain at about 6:00 PM. It was a long day of riding.
This was the first day I have taken some advil due to rear end weariness. We had a wonderful dinner and then Barb laid around watching TV while I washed the motorcycle and got things ready for the next day. She thinks this is a catered tour. Tomorrow we travel to Mackinaw City, MI.
