DAY 6
We woke up to rain this morning. We watched the weather channel and could tell that it would pass by us in time so we drank lots of coffee until a break came. We quickly loaded the motorcycle and rode off with Barb in full rain gear.
There were two significant events today, one was my burned out headlamp and the second was Barb getting a chance to explore her home town and tell me all about it.
The Headlamp
I always wave to other motorcyclists and these two Harley riders were no exception. They passed us and later we passed them and later they passed us and pointed out to me that I had a head light out. We had just passed a Honda dealer as we came into Grand Forks, ND. We refueled, stopped in Perkins for breakfast where I proceeded to leave Barb to finish her breakfast and I rode to the Honda place. They took me right in fixed the light and it was all covered under the warranty and we were off riding again within a half an hour. God does really work in mysterious ways.
Grand Rapids, MN
This is where Barb lived until 5th grade when her family moved to Portland, OR. She was like a kid in a candy store all day. Especially when we found Paul and Babe the Blue Ox in Bemidji, MN. She took me on a tour of the old stomping grounds and told me things that were true and some things that were how she remembered them. Family members will enjoy looking at the pictures.
