DAY 25

Tuesday July 11, 2006

I woke up this morning kicking myself for not checking to see about road construction on our planned route.  Since I get up quite early, I booted the computer back up and sure enough, there were two areas of road construction along our planned route.  I told Steve about this so we made an adjustment and went due south to I84, jumped on the freeway and made a fast trip to Boise and the Cracker Barrell.  The chicken fried steak was delicious!

From here it was back on I84 to Ontario, OR where we refueled the motorcycle and headed on to Burns, OR.  I had never been on this stretch of highway and it was very fun to ride with all of it's curves and hills. The only drawback was that the temperature was 97 degrees.  Too hot for wearing full crash gear.

After arriving in Burns (actually Hines), we cleaned up and Steve and I hit the swimming pool.  It felt just great.  Dinner was in a Chinese restaurant.  The meal was good but the laughter was better.  When we got back to the motel we started planning our next adventure together.

Barb and I wll be glad to get home and see the kids, and grandkids but I would be happy to still be heading out over new horizons.  We are happy and sad both.
