DAY 16

July 2, 2006

Everyday is an adventure on this trip and today has proven to be no exception.  Birdie and Bob had a barbecue for the family this afternoon.  Tony and his wife Jodi, Jenny and her boyfriend John and Jodi's parents Steve and Diane also came.  The food was great but the real surprise was when Jenny arrived with the a big "rock on her finger"!  John had popped the big question and Jenny accepted.  The wedding is planned for this coming October.

Were Birdie and Bob happy?  Well, yes! Were Jenny and John happy?  Well, yes! And the celebration was on.  What a fun time to be here on this special and most happy day!  Life is so good!

To top off the afternoon, Birdie made homemade ice cream.  It was super and we all had seconds and thirds.

Earlier in the afternoon I made motel reservations in Huron, SD and Rapid City, SD for the next two nights.  My adrenaline gets going when I think about getting on the road again.  These last two days have been so much fun but now it is time to move on. We are off for a ride on the praries of South Dakota.
