Clark I and both spent most of our working career at Centennial School District; Clark as principal of Centennial Middle School and Centennial High School and I was an adminstrative assistant for the Assistant Superintendent at the district office.  Since my area included much of what went on at the buildings I had many opportunities to work with Clark.  He was one of the most well respected and superior principals I have ever known.  Students under his leadership were, indeed, fortunate.  Finally, with only one year before my retirement (1997/98),  I was the lucky one to get to work directly with Clark at the district office when he became the Assistant Superintendent-Curriculum.  We had a grand time that year and laughed a lot as we both learned our new jobs.  Keeping Clark "on task" was one of my main roles and he graciously allowed me to nag him a lot.  He even agreed to learn about and utilize a Franklin Planner so we could try and keep up with all his activities.  I have never known anyone with so much positive energy.  We did several Power Point presentations together and throughly enjoyed the challenge to make each one better.   I found inspiration and comfort working along side an individual who, in a public school setting, openly professed his faith and strong Christian beliefs and family values without making others feel threatened by those beliefs.  It takes a very special person to be able to do that successfully - God has truly blessed this man for his faithful walk and I am truly blessed to have been associated with him and his family.  We did make quite the pair with me at 5'1" and Clark towering over me at ???  --waaaaay up there.  Guess I "looked up to him" in several different ways.

I truly admire this new personal challenge he has taken on and will be watching his daily journal as he continues to travel across the USA.
