Here is Bob's side of the story, and I quote:

"I should tell you a story about how I got to know Clark. I had been working
out at a gym in Wilsonville for a couple years when this elderly man started
showing up. I was taught that it was important to "respect your elders" so
I sort of befriended the ol guy. Soon, after learning of his back ground
with Centennial High School, I told him I only knew one family with kids
that attended that school. I asked if he knew of the Kauipuekies (sp) (Kaopuiki Ed.) and his response was that his daughter was married to Brandon. Small world;
Brandon's Dad was a college room-mate with my Uncle and we were very close
family friends. In fact, when Brandon was a grade schooler, I lived in a
trailer in their drive way (I was working road construction and my job was
in Portland).

I have become friends with this ol guy and appreciate the inspiration he
shares."
